2022 ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Reached the 100% renewable electricity in Europe and North America facilities.
  • FIA 3 star Environmental Accreditation.
  • First tyre to be certified FSC.
  • Pirelli, BMW Group and BirdLife International together for protecting the natural ecosystem north of the Hutan Harapan forest, in Indonesia.
  • New product lines launched in 2021-22 (Cinturato and Scorpion) with an improvement in wear rates of up to 33% compared to the previous generation.
  • New SBTi approved target in line with 1.5°C, Commitment to Net Zero SBTi formalized.
  • Publishment of the Sustainability Linked Financing Framework in May 2022 and placement of the first benchmark-size sustainability linked bond in the global tyre sector in January 2023.

SUSTAINABILITY TARGETS AT 2025-2030

On March 31, 2021 Pirelli released its new Industrial Plan including sustainability targets for 2025-2030.

The Targets:
  • align with the Company’s economic, social and environmental material impacts while pursuing UN Sustainable Development Goals;
  • pursue Corporate preparedness to mitigate risks while taking growth opportunities arising from global scenarios @2025-2030, including:
    • technological breakthroughs and digital innovation;
    • climate change and circular economy;
    • population growth and raw materials scarcity;
    some of which having undergone an acceleration following the effects of the COVID pandemic.
